We are fortunate to stay in a place just a walk from the British Museum. We went in for the first time last Tuesday to visit an exhibition: Eight Mummies, Eight Lives, Eight Stories. We weren’t allowed to snap photos in there, but it was interesting to learn how advanced their technology is: They’re now able to scan through enclosed mummy coffins and reveal the structure of their bones, which reveal a whole lot.

The British Museum’s collections are divided into the continents of which they’re from. WikipediaIts permanent collection, numbering some 8 million works, is among the largest and most comprehensive in existence. It was quite overwhelming! So after we’d seen the mummies exhibition, BZ went home to work and I explored Africa. We plan to go back today to see more, and I’ll definitely be snapping photos of the Elgin Marbles! (Totally forgot they were in there! Thanks Wikipedia for reminding me!)
